ISR Lesson Structure
ISR is the product over 45 years of ongoing development in the area of aquatic survival instruction for infants and children. Each lesson is a one-on-one private lesson customized to each student's individual needs. ISR's primary focus is to teach your child how to become a productive independent swimmer and/or floater in any depth of water. The goal of ISR is that your child becomes an "Aquatic Problem Solver." ISR will greatly increase your child's chance of surviving in the case of any aquatic accident, even when fully clothed!

1
10 mins a Day
Why 10 mins a day? Because ISR has done extensive research on child development and how children learn. Children learn best with small increments daily. This is similar to how children learn to crawl and walk. They did not learn to walk with practicing for half an hour on Thursdays. It was the small, successful, daily increments that allowed them to build off their previous learned skills. ISR uses this same philosophy!
2
5 Days a Week, Monday-Friday
Consistency is crucial! With lessons 5 days a week, we are able to strengthen current skills, while also asking for a little more in order to developing new skills.. This is how we create a strong reinforcement history. Each lesson we focus on keeping the child hopeful and successful. This builds competence and then comes confidence. You can see both competence and confidence illustrated through the amazing results of our fully skilled ISR students!

6 Weeks
It takes an average of 6 weeks for children to learn ISR Survival techniques and to become fully skilled. As we know, children learn at different paces. Therefore, some children may finish slightly early while others may take a few lessons longer. Every lesson is personalized for each individual and we will go at a pace that is best for your child. Our guarantee to you, is that your child will finish the initial set of ISR Lessons when they can perform all ISR Check Out Procedures independently (without touch or assistance), are fully skilled and water safe!

ISR Maintence & ISR Refresher Lessons
Once your child has completed the initial set of ISR Lessons, then we recommend that they move onto ISR Maintenance Lessons or ISR Refresher Lessons. ISR has an extremely high retention rate (96% up to one year after completing lessons) because of our sensorimotor learning techniques. But as children grown they need to practice and adjust to their growing bodies. ISR Maintenance Lessons are typically 1-2 times a week in order to maintain and strengthen skills.
ISR Refresher Lessons are for when your child has been out of lessons for 3 month, 6 months, 1 year or longer. Refresher Lessons are 5 days a week for average of 1-3 weeks depending on how long your child has been out of lessons in order to bring skills back up to par. ISR Maintenance Lessons are always the best option so your child so they never has a lapse of losing their ISR Survival Skills.
